Kexin Liang

Kexin Liang is a London-based photographer working across fashion and editorial image-making.

She grew up in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in northern China. It was a place that often felt slightly out of order: spring onions planted in green belts instead of flowers, children swimming in puddles after the rain, ordinary streets carrying a quiet sense of misplacement. These early details shaped the way she looks at the world, with an attention to small disruptions, quiet emotional shifts and things that seem slightly out of place.

Qinhuangdao has changed. Much of its strangeness has been smoothed out by urban planning, but the feeling it left behind remains in her work. Her images often sit between the delicate and the slightly unsettled. Rather than stating emotion directly, they hold it through gesture, texture, styling and the quiet tension between what is seen and what is felt.

Working through fashion photography, Liang is interested in how images can feel precise and fragile at the same time. Her work treats beauty not simply as decoration, but as a way to hold uncertainty, awkwardness and quiet emotional pressure.
